Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Permit to Work Coordinator to base in Mold, North Wales, supporting a major Energy Transition project. You will manage the PTW system, coordinate SIMOPS, and interface with Client Supervision and contractor partners to maintain safe operations.

The role requires CSCS, experience in PTW systems on large projects, and strong communication and planning skills. The position offers long-term stability on site in Mold.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or high-hazard sectors with PTW systems.
• CSCS card or working towards one is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing PTW and SIMOPS on large projects.
• Some exposure to risk management practices is expected.
• Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PTW procedure aligned to project needs.
• Deliver PTW training for permit process participants.
• Administer and control site-wide PTW system.
• Chair daily PTW/SIMOPS meetings and approve permits.
• Advise all parties on permit requirements and documents.
• Ensure permits are issued, reviewed, and closed per PTW procedure.
• Maintain accurate PTW records of permits issued and closed.
• Maintain PTW/SIMOPS board showing work locations.
• Manage SIMOPS register for clashes with other activities.
• Generate PTW statistics and report trends to HSE Manager.
• Report non-compliance to HSE Manager immediately.
• Act as Permit Issuer and oversee permit issuance/resubmission.
• Coordinate activities to avoid hazards from SIMOPS.
• Verify TBRA and risk assessments before work starts.
• Monitor PTW procedure compliance and permit conditions.
• Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders for smooth permit processes.
• Maintain PTW daily register/log and keep documentation up to date.
• Support isolations coordination (electrical, mechanical, process).
• Assist digital PTW system transition with minimal disruption.
