Job summary

West Sussex County Council's Learning & Development team is seeking a Digital Learning Designer to create engaging digital learning to support the Oracle implementation and broader transformation objectives.

You will design learning activities using Articulate 360, Storyline and Rise, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure learning objectives are met through accessible, high-quality content. This 12-month fixed-term post offers hybrid working from County Hall, Chichester.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering digital learning.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Applications or similar systems.
  • Experience authorising digital content with accessibility and copyright knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Create, design and deliver bespoke digital learning to facilitate user understanding of Oracle applications.
  • Pro-actively establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Continuously assess and update learning resources to ensure staff achieve competence in adopting the Oracle system.

Job description

Are you an experienced digital learning designer who is passionate about learning & development principles and technologies to enhance the adult learner experience? Do you have excellent creative, design and written skills to be able to create digital learning content to an excellent standard? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you!

Salary: £37,563 to £40,444 per annum
Contract Type: 12-month Fixed term
Working Pattern: Full time – 37 hours per week
Location: Based at County Hall – Chichester, with hybrid working
Provisional Interview Dates: 30/09 and 01/10

The Learning and Development team are currently recruiting for a Digital Learning Designer to provide dedicated training to support the implementation of the Oracle system. This role will be critical in maximising our investment in the Oracle solution and supporting our broader business transformation objectives. In this role, you will be designing digital learning activities in a variety of ways, to ensure learning objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in learning and development and be able to design and deliver digital learning. You will have a track record of creating digital learning content, a sound understanding of instructional design learning methodologies and eLearning design principles and techniques.

You will need to work collaboratively and be creative in designing learning solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to create effective learning solutions which support WSCC staff. You will create eLearning solutions using Articulate 360, Storyline, and Rise. If this sounds like a role that fits with your experience and knowledge, then we want to hear more from you!

The Opportunity

In this role, you will create, design and deliver bespoke digital learning to facilitate user understanding of Oracle applications. You will need to pro-actively establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, from functional experts, oracle specialists, as well as the wider learning and development team.

You will continuously assess, evaluate and update learning resources to ensure that staff are achieving competence in the behaviours and skills associated with successful adoption of the Oracle system.

About you

Some of the key skills, experience and knowledge required to be successful in the role include:

  • Professional learning and development qualification and experience in digital learning design.
  • Relevant knowledge, experience and expertise in design, delivery and evaluation of digital learning, as well as familiarity with Oracle Applications or similar systems.
  • Demonstratable experience in authorising digital content using specialist tools and in doing so demonstrating knowledge of accessibility, as well as copyright legislation.
  • Ability to present information and subject matter in a clear, concise and accurate way, which promotes understanding and achieves learning objectives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to engage with a variety of key stakeholders.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work, in a clear and logical way to ensure deadlines are achieved.
