West Sussex County Council is seeking an experienced Digital Learning Designer to design and develop interactive, high-quality digital learning solutions.

In this role you will lead storyboarding and content design sessions, manage multiple projects and collaborate with stakeholders to meet learning objectives.

Proficiency with Articulate 360, Storyline and Rise, plus strong instructional design knowledge and accessibility awareness, will help deliver engaging staff development resources.

Qualifications

  • Professional learning and development qualification and experience in digital learning design.
  • Experience designing digital content using specialist content authoring tools and working concurrently on projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of instructional design principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of accessibility and copyright legislation.
  • Excellent creative, design and written skills to create digital learning content to a high standard.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Excellent questioning and listening skills to obtain information and respond to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job description

Are you an experienced digital learning designer who is passionate about learning & development principles and technologies to enhance the adult learner experience? Do you have excellent creative, design and written skills to be able to create digital learning content to an excellent standard? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you!

Salary: £30,456 to £32,792 per annum pro rata (Full time equivalent £37,563 to £40,444 per annum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Part time – 30 hours per week
Location: Based at County Hall – Chichester, with hybrid working
Provisional Interview Dates: 30/09 and 01/10

The Learning and Development team are currently recruiting for a Digital Learning Designer to design and develop interactive, high-quality digital learning solutions. In this role, you will be working on several projects at a time, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating in line with the project plan and learning objectives. You will ensure that we make best use of learning technologies to engage, inspire and challenge our learners.

The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of instructional design learning methodologies and digital learning design principles and techniques. You will create digital learning solutions using Articulate 360, Storyline and Rise. You will be able to provide specialist knowledge, advice and guidance to stakeholders, colleagues and subject matter experts across the organisation.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide a professional and customer focused service to create, design and deliver bespoke digital learning solutions. You will lead storyboarding and content design sessions where you will be able to apply your specialist knowledge and provide advice and guidance. You will need to pro-actively establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders as well as the wider learning and development team.

You will continuously assess, evaluate and update learning resources to ensure that staff are achieving competence in the behaviours and skills as defined as part of the learning outcomes.

About you

Some of the key skills, experience and knowledge required to be successful in the role include:

  • Professional learning and development qualification and experience in digital learning design.
  • Relevant knowledge, experience and expertise in designing digital content using specialist content authoring tools and working concurrently on projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of instructional design principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of accessibility, as well as copyright legislation.
  • Excellent creative, design and written skills to create digital learning content to a high standard.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work, in a clear and logical way to ensure deadlines are achieved and multiple projects are progressing.
  • Excellent questioning and listening skills which will enable you to obtain information and interpret complex information. You will be able to summarise and respond back to stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to create and maintain effective working relationships.
