About the role
We’re looking for an experienced L&D Designer to join our Development and Wellbeing Team. You will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, high‑quality learning materials across multiple formats, including eLearning (Articulate / Rise), virtual workshops, and PDF guides. This role plays a critical part in supporting Wellbeing and Development strategy, ensuring that content is visually appealing, user‑friendly, and effective. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to meet training needs while maintaining brand consistency and applying the latest instructional design principles.

What you’ll be doing?
- Design: design and develop engaging e‑learning modules and online courses, applying instructional design theories to create content that enhances learner retention, onboarding and engagement.
- Content Management: use the LMS to upload, organise, and maintain various forms of learning materials, including multimedia elements like videos, graphics and interactive tools.
- Needs Analysis: conduct learning needs assessments to determine learning objectives and identify content requirements with business areas.
- Technical Management: configure and troubleshoot the LMS platform, resolve technical issues, rebuild existing material and reports and ensure the system runs smoothly.
- User Support & Training: provide technical support and guidance to both instructors and learners on using the LMS effectively.
- Reporting & Performance Tracking: assist with monitoring system performance and user progress, generating reports on completion rates and course effectiveness.
- Collaboration: work closely with business area experts and stakeholders to develop high‑quality learning solutions.
- SharePoint: use the internal intranet to upload, organise, and maintain various learning and information materials, including multimedia elements.
- Continuous Improvement: keep up with the latest e‑learning trends and technologies, incorporating feedback and performance data to continuously improve learning offerings.
Who are we looking for?
- Strong expertise in adult learning principles and digital learning design, aligning solutions to business objectives.
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality learning content, including multimedia and interactive materials.
- Advanced experience working with LMS and e‑learning authoring tools, including ongoing optimisation and improvement.
- High level of technical proficiency, including troubleshooting issues, managing system integrations, and working with information management systems.
- Well‑developed communication and stakeholder management skills, working effectively across functions and with senior colleagues.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines, quality standards and documentation requirements.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in fast‑paced or deadline‑driven environments.
- Confident IT skills, including strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and related business tools.
- Demonstrated ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes that enhance learning effectiveness or operational efficiency.
- Significant experience in Learning and Development design, ideally within a scaling, operational or transformation‑focused organisation.
- Experience working within company policies, legal requirements and ethical standards, ensuring compliance across learning activity.
- CIPD L&D qualification preferred but not essential; other relevant professional or administrative qualifications are advantageous.
