Job summary

Smiths Detection is offering an Apprentice Online Training Designer role in Hemel Hempstead for a 24‑month fixed-term contract on-site. You will develop online training, work with modern e‑learning technologies, and collaborate with a global tech team while studying toward a Level 5 Digital Learning Designer Apprenticeship.

You’ll gain hands-on experience creating engaging online training, with opportunities to learn from digital learning professionals and contribute to multilingual global

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
• Experience or interest in digital learning, design, multimedia or content creation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of online learning modules using Articulate Storyline.
• Create storyboards and learner journeys to transform technical information into engaging learning experiences.
• Support the creation of assessments, quizzes and knowledge checks.
• Record and edit audio for training content.
• Capture and edit video content.
• Create and enhance images for digital learning solutions.
• Develop basic 3D assets and animations for interactive learning experiences.
• Work with AI-enabled tools to support content creation and learner engagement.
• Maintain training content within the Learning Management System.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Analyze learner feedback and training metrics for continuous improvement.
