Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking an Apprentice Online Training Designer for a 24-month fixed-term on-site role in Hemel Hempstead. You will join the Global Training team to help develop digital learning solutions for colleagues worldwide.

You will gain hands-on experience designing online training, using e‑learning tools like Articulate Storyline, creating storyboards, and developing multimedia content while studying towards Level 5 Digital Learning Designer Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Experience creating visual, multimedia or animated content.
• Interest in animation, video production, graphic design or UX.
• Portfolio or evidence of creative projects.
• Willingness to learn and apply AI tools.
• Ability to work in a global tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and development of online learning modules.
• Create storyboards and learner journeys.
• Support assessments and quizzes.
• Record and edit audio for training content.
• Capture and edit video content.
• Create and enhance images for digital learning.
• Develop basic 3D assets and animations.
• Work with SMEs and engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Analyze learner feedback and metrics.
