Job description

Overview

It’s a great time to join Screwfix. Thanks to the hard work of our team and record-breaking sales, we’re proud to be one of the fastest-growing retailers in the UK. And we want to pass that growth onto you.

How would you like to be part of a team that has one of the UK's leading omnichannel approaches within an industry that is all about providing an efficient and seamless service to get the job done using data to drive decisions and inform growth?

Obsessed with Big Data? Interested in understanding how you build a data pipeline that becomes the lifeblood of our digital teams? Do you live to drive actionable insights that steer strategy, drive business performance and change the way we view the digital landscape?

At Screwfix, our omnichannel approach provides a wealth of data to do exactly that and allows us to understand how customers interact with our business across multiple touchpoints that help shape the way customers purchase from us. Delving into analytics tools such as GA4, ContentSquare, PowerBI and Tealium, feeding insights into the wider digital team, helping create a data driven ecosystem that is hugely valued within the business to continue to evolve and iterate on our proposition.

Join our dynamic team as a key player in shaping the future of our web channels! Reporting to the Senior Ecommerce Analytics & Insight Manager, you'll be central to our efforts to understand what drives our online success. Your expertise in data collation and analysis will highlight the factors behind online performance and customer behavior, uncovering opportunities for growth. This role goes beyond reporting and data management; you'll provide actionable insights that drive meaningful changes within the ecommerce team.

At Screwfix, we believe happy, fulfilled colleagues create a stronger business. That’s why we’ve built a workplace that works for you—combining flexibility, inclusivity, and sustainability with opportunities to thrive.

We would welcome discussions around flexible and remote working for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse data from multiple sources to understand daily, weekly, monthly digital performance and trending.
  • Use insight to prepare recommendations for stakeholder consideration to drive further customer engagement and online performance.
  • Take ownership of the ongoing development of the reporting framework, continually streamlining and improving based on business need and stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform ad-hoc pieces of analysis, from category deep dives to campaign performance, providing clear narrative, trending and recommendations from the insight to inform stakeholder decision making.
  • Proactively explore areas of opportunity that could help increase our e-commerce performance KPI’s.
  • Provide focused support to Digital Trading Managers & Merchandisers in an Analytics Business Partner capacity.
  • Support the Senior Digital Analytics Manager with the creation and presenting of key presentations; with focus on story-telling and actionable insight.
  • Help embed a data-driven culture into the E-commerce team and wider business by working with key stakeholders to help facilitate data driven decision making for all digital activities, including digital marketing analytics, trading optimisation and web development.
  • Constantly keep an eye on market performance to understand the impact of existing and new competition, share insight and observations with stakeholders to inform decision making and our competitive position in the market.
  • Become the power user of web analytics tools in the ecommerce team including Google Analytics, SimilarWeb and ContentSquare – drive awareness and capability of the tools to the wider team.
  • Assist in the forecasting and budgeting of the E-commerce channels.
  • Help prioritise opportunities across the team by calculating incrementality and building business cases based on data.
  • Recommend and help fill gaps in our data that will enable us to take our insight further i.e. tagging recommendations.
  • Assist in the day-to-day support of the digital Graduate.
Qualifications
  • Experience with web analytics tools in an ecommerce environment including Google Analytics, SimilarWeb and ContentSquare.
  • Highly numerate and analytical, confident and comfortable working with large amounts of complex data.

  • Strong Excel skills - the ability to manipulate and format information clearly in Excel (create formulas, format charts and tables, pivot tables).
  • Confident user of online systems, tools and technology. Comfortable using multiple systems and the ability and confidence to learn and use new tools effectively.
  • Experience in sharing output to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Curiosity to explore data further and be proactive in gathering insights.
  • A demonstrable interest in eCommerce (websites, online retailing etc) is essential.
