Job summary

VANRATH are delighted to assist our major Public Sector client by recruiting an Economic Development Officer to join their team in Newtownabbey.

You will lead and deliver digital innovation and economic development programmes, manage budgets, engage stakeholders and report on outputs within the Borough.

Working Monday to Friday in a public sector environment, the role offers £21.65 per hour and a chance to contribute to local growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in economic development, programme or project management, or a similar role.
• Ability to manage programmes from planning through to delivery, with budget monitoring and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

• Council programme delivery: manage and deliver digital innovation programmes including budgets, procurement, monitoring and reporting.
• External digital and innovation programmes: build relationships with organisations delivering regional programmes and promote access.
• Funding and programme development: identify funding opportunities and develop new programmes to support growth; prepare funding applications.
• Staff management: line manage staff and set priorities for effective delivery.
• Stakeholder engagement: work with internal teams and regional partners to support delivery.
• Monitoring and reporting: track progress, monitor outputs and budgets, and report against objectives.
