Overview
The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students. To apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. Student Services are looking for students from all degrees and years of study to provide Peer to Peer Support and to offer support to others with Digital Literacy. The post holder will work as part of a team, facilitating Support Sessions for students with the view to supplementing academic support provided by full time academic staff.
Responsibilities
- Training events
- Collaborating with others to plan sessions based on feedback from students and guidance from academic staff
- Facilitate and/or support sessions for students, as the team\'s rota dictates, either online and/or on campus
- Proactively login and check Microsoft Teams accounts for messages from the team and/or academic contacts and respond in a timely manner
- Complete all weekly administrative tasks required, including providing feedback from sessions, collecting and providing Student ID numbers of attendees and completing timesheets
- Regularly communicate and report any issues or problems through the appropriate channels
- Actively reflect on feedback from students and the team with a focus on continuous improvement
- Report any planned/unexpected absence to the team with as much notice as possible, as well as others this absence may affect
- Attend any planned observation and debrief sessions with either the team or academic contacts
- Support promotional events and recruitment, including promotional stalls in academic buildings
- Adhere to the university\'s data protection policy, in line with GDPR
- Engage in reflective practices of your working experience, as per guidance provided by the team

Qualifications
- This role is open to current Manchester Met students who are skilled in Microsoft Office and/or Adobe packages.

- Great communication skills and a willingness to be a role model for others. All parts of this role require you to work with colleagues and interact with students, supporting them with their studies.
- Organisation and punctuality. You must be committed to attend all training, support sessions, planning and debrief meetings.
- You do not need to be a top-grade student, just willing to connect with others, take on feedback and engage with your work with enthusiasm.
