Job summary

Screwfix is seeking a part-time Digital Catalogue Assistant to support our Digital & Data team on a 6-month fixed term contract. You will help classify products accurately, enhance discoverability, and present listings clearly across the website, collaborating with Content, Ranging and Digital Merchandising teams.

This 30-hour role offers hybrid working with up to 2 days at home, competitive benefits, and opportunities to contribute to ongoing catalogue growth and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and maintain product taxonomy to ensure accurate categorisation and discoverability.
  • Review taxonomy and flag opportunities for new categories based on product intake.
  • Provide recommendations to Content teams for clear, SEO-friendly titles.
  • Carry out regular website and merchandising checks for launched lines.
  • Support management of clearance, refurbished and ad hoc requests within timescales.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Digital Merchandising team as required.

With 70,000+ products online, making sure customers can find the right product quickly and easily takes a lot of work behind the scenes. We’re looking for a Digital Catalogue Assistant to join our Digital & Data team on a 6-month fixed term contract, providing additional support across our digital catalogue as we manage ongoing project work and growth. You’ll help make sure products are accurately categorised, easy to discover and presented clearly across our website, working closely with our Content, Ranging and Digital Merchandising teams.

This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (7.5 hours per day)

Key responsibilities
  • Apply and maintain product taxonomy to ensure products are accurately categorised and easy for customers to discover across the website.
  • Review existing taxonomy and flag opportunities for new categories, based on new product intake.
  • Provide recommendations that can be supplied to Content teams to improve product listings with a particular focus on creating clear, consistent and SEO-friendly product titles.
  • Carry out regular website and merchandising checks for any lines that have launched.
  • Support if needed, the management of clearance, refurbished and ad hoc requests to ensure products are launched, amended or removed from the website accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Digital Merchandising team as required.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing product information.
  • An interest in e-commerce, digital trading, SEO and online customer journeys.
  • Good understanding of how product taxonomy, categorisation and website navigation influence product discoverability.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with wider teams as needed.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced digital environment.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and flag issues or opportunities.
