Airbus in Filton, Bristol, invites applications for a four-year Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship starting September 2027. You will work across IT teams while earning a full-time salary and gaining industry experience.

The programme combines on‑the‑job training with university learning at Weston College (UCW), accredited by the University of the West of England, leading to a fully funded BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions.

• This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of on the job training at Airbus, and university based learning on day release over the duration of the 4 year programme.
• You will learn key skills in Digital and technology and have the opportunity to apply real world analytical practices, which will contribute directly to your degree whilst adding value to our business.
• Proactively assist in defining the direction for future IT Products, services and validate product designs.
• Participate in all phases of the application development life cycle which includes integration, validation and production.
• Align architecture strategy with the organisation business goals.
• Define policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development implementation and use of Information Technology within the organisation.
• Project management, involving gathering requirements, creating technical specifications and architecture documents, creating and maintaining documentation and managing a project timeline.

Our Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprentices get the unique opportunity to work across a wide variety of teams within Airbus, giving you the “university experience” with 4 whole years of invaluable industry experience. During the exciting scheme, you will get the opportunity to work with many different IT applications. You will follow industry leading project management methodologies to deliver successful business-critical projects, whilst earning a full-time salary and paying ZERO fees to do so.

The apprenticeship gives you the unique opportunity to work in a wide variety of disciplines including:

• Cyber Security;
• IT Service Delivery Management;
• Data Analytics;
• Operational Technology;
• Software Development;
• Information Management.

Over the 4 years, alongside your workplace commitments, you will achieve a fully funded BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions. The completion of this degree will be intertwined with your work based experiences, part of which will directly contribute to your degree. You will be studying via our training partner Weston College (UCW), and your degree will be accredited by the University of the West of England. Your industry based work takes place at our world leading aircraft manufacturer site in Filton, Bristol.

What you will be doing

Key activities of the industry based work of this apprenticeship may include

• Proactively assist in defining the direction for future IT Products, services and validate product designs;
• Participate in all phases of the application development life cycle which includes integration, validation and production;
• Align architecture strategy with the organisation business goals;
• Define policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development implementation and use of Information Technology within the organisation;
• Project management, involving gathering requirements, creating technical specifications and architecture documents, creating and maintaining documentation and managing a project timeline.

During this time, you will also get to work with various teams in our engineering, design, quality, operations support, cyber security, IT solutions and helpdesk teams and our supply chain and logistics departments, whilst also having the opportunity to pick placements outside of your area of study, including HR, facilities management, recruitment, finance and much more.
