Job summary
GAP Group is seeking a Diesel Engineer to join our depot-based team in Bury St Edmunds. You will repair and maintain a range of pump equipment, attend breakdowns at customer sites, and ensure accurate service records are kept.
The role demands proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician, with solid knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators. A valid driving licence is essential, and we support continuing development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician.
- Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable but training will be provided.
- Experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A customer-focussed approach workload and committed team player.
- A valid driving licence is
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain equipment in the depot.
- Attend breakdowns across customer sites.
- Identify and repair faults or damage to pumps, hoses and generators.
- Accurately updating service records.
