Integration engineer with a strong background in Emissions, Gas Path, and Aftertreatment.
Ideal candidates include calibrators with extensive emissions experience or base engine engineers knowledgeable in emissions and test bed operations.
- Support the development of engine and aftertreatment physical base system engineering.
- Understand the integration of core systems—Aftertreatment and Gas Path.
- Hands-on experience calibrating diesel engines for emissions on dynamometers to meet emission targets.
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver robust requirements and targets on-cycle for programs.
- Develop and update system artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards) off-cycle and on-cycle.
- Deliver new functions through statement of capability (SOC) and feature statement of intent (FSOI) processes.
- Identify, report, and resolve system compatibility issues efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to specified engineering methods, tools, and aids.
- Support vehicle, domain, and indirect team members' understanding of integrated propulsion functions.
- Chair technical reviews/forums and resolve complex cross-functional issues.
- Develop methods and conduct technical studies into future technologies.
Your profile:
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Experience in developing electrified propulsion systems such as MHEV and PHEV.
- Proven experience with emission calibration and regulatory understanding.
- Good understanding of ICE gas path chemistry.
- Knowledge of calibration, sensors, and control systems.
- Experience analyzing standard cycles, emission tests, and issue resolution.
- Exposure to CAE tools for vehicle, propulsion, and sub-systems.
- Experience defining test cases and DoE for HIL, PIL, VIL, and vehicle environments.
- Full UK or equivalent driving license.
- Knowledge of 8D issue resolution, data statistics, and Six Sigma methods.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- Previous experience in emission calibration and powertrain systems engineering.
- Understanding of MHEV systems and calibration across test cycles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical curiosity and analytical mindset.
- Proven team player with interpersonal skills.
- CAE experience with vehicle and propulsion subsystems, including Simulink modeling.
- Specialization in Emissions, Aftertreatment, Gas-path, Base engines, HV Systems, Torque, and Energy Arbitration.
