Evoke Staffing is seeking askilled Field-Based Mechanical Engineerwith strong experience in diesel engines to join our esteemed client in the Cardiff area.

The ideal candidates will have a background with leading engine manufacturers such asCAT, Perkins, Volvo, or JCB.

You'll primarily work ondiesel-driven water pumps, performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Training will be provided for the pump systems if required.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with health safety and environmental legislative requirements
• Ensure risk assessments & method statements have been utilised
• Plan and coordinate the work in an efficient manner
• Liaise with customers
• Undertake repairs for the diesel driven pump fleet
• Fault finding throughout the mechanical/electrical process
• Assist with keeping our new fleet in a world class condition
• Prioritise and efficiently manage all mechanical engineering works to ensure that the customer has best service and reliability, with minimum down time.
• Provide assistance with spares ordering.
• Provide technical support to the customer and other engineers with the company
• Be part of a callout rota.
• Check drawings, designs, materials and equipment for conformity with project specifications

Requirements

• Experience with large diesel engines (OEM trained preferred)
• Mechanical bias with some electrical knowledge
• HNC / City & Guilds in Mechanical or relevant Engineering discipline
• Recognised OEM/manufacturer or in-house training also accepted
• Industry qualifications (Quarry Passport, CSCS) desirable
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently or within a team
