Job summary

Signet Jewelers Limited, home to H. Samuel and Ernest Jones, is seeking a commercially savvy Junior Buyer to join our Diamond category.

You’ll own developing and trading product ranges, partner with Merchandising Planning and Sourcing, and collaborate with US teams to bring global insights into the category. You’ll drive strategy to execution, analyse trends, negotiate with suppliers, manage a lifecycle across retail and ecommerce, and mentor at least one direct report.

Qualifications

• Experience as Junior Buyer or Senior Assistant Buyer in a multi-site retail environment.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills with numbers and data.
• Trend awareness in jewellery or accessories.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience building relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Organised and proactive, able to juggle multiple projects.
• Jewellery buying experience or knowledge of the category is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver seasonal and annual strategies for the category.
• Build and trade ranges based on customer insight, market trends and performance data.
• Work with suppliers to source and develop new products, ensuring quality and cost.
• Plan and execute promotions to drive traffic and margin.
• Collaborate with marketing, visual merchandising and retail teams to bring ranges to life in-store and online.
• Manage and mentor at least one direct report within the Buying Admin team.
• Stay on top of product performance and optimise sell-through while minimising terminal stock.
• Ensure Go to Market processes and relevant legislation compliance.
