Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join the Weston Dialysis Unit. You will work under the indirect supervision of a registered nurse, assisting with pre-dialysis assessment, setting up dialysis machines and monitoring patients during treatment, while delivering compassionate care in a busy outpatient dialysis setting.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience as a support worker in health or social care.
• English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
• Completion of Senior HCSW training / clinical competencies.
• Experience in healthcare environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain consent before care following Trust policies.
• Carry out clinical duties with minimal supervision per care plans.
• Perform tasks such as vital signs, glucose testing, and samples as needed.
• Document accurately and maintain patient records.
• Work as part of a team and maintain infection control standards.
• Support nurses with patient care and escalation when required.
