Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker (Band 2-3 Developmental) to join the Totton Dialysis Unit in Southampton. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, with a fixed salary of £25,272 pro rata per year and a progressive development path from Band 2 to Band 3 within our healthcare team.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) is required.
• Care Certificate or ability to complete within 3 months of appointment.
• Knowledge and Behaviour Framework to be completed within 6 months.
• Level 2 Health-related qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in acute hospital, community, or nursing home settings.

Responsibilities

• Support with clinical care for a defined group of patients under supervision.
• Safeguard welfare, safety and security of patients, visitors and staff.
• Provide physical comfort and maintain privacy and dignity for patients.
• Assist patients with mobility and personal care.
• Assist with cleaning tasks and equipment as needed.
• Record patient information and support administrative duties.
