Job summary

BEDFORDPERM is recruiting for a Diagnostics Repair Technician in Wellingborough. The role focuses on fault-finding and repairing electronic products to component level, using a range of test equipment.

You will join a growing global organisation that supports brands across the product lifecycle. The position offers Monday to Friday hours, a salary of £35,000 - £39,000, and ongoing training and benefits including pension and life cover.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electronics repair or test environment.
  • Qualification in Electronics Engineering (ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Strong electronics knowledge and fault-finding ability.
  • Experience diagnosing faults down to component level.
  • Proficient with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and multi-meters.
  • Good understanding of electronic testing procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Test, diagnose and repair electronic products to component level.
  • Use automated and manual test equipment to identify faults.
  • Carry out fault-finding with and without schematics or circuit diagrams.
  • Complete repairs to the required quality and performance standards.
  • Accurately document repairs and diagnostics within internal systems.
  • Disassemble, reassemble and prepare returned units for testing and repair.
  • Configure hardware for manual testing where required.
  • Support continuous improvement and reduction in turnaround times.
  • Highlight technical, quality or process issues to Engineering and Management teams.
  • Carry out maintenance and calibration checks on test systems.
  • Provide technical support and cross-training to colleagues when required.

Duties of a Diagnostics Repair Technician:
  • Test, diagnose and repair electronic products to component level

What we would like from you:
