Job summary

Osborne Appointments is recruiting a Diagnostics Repair Technician for a Wellingborough-based role. The position involves testing and repairing electronics to component level, fault-finding with various test equipment, and documenting repairs in internal systems.

The role requires an electronics background, with ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Full-time, on-site with a clear progression path and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electronics Engineering (ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent)
• Experience in electronics repair or test environment
• Ability to diagnose faults to component level
• Proficient with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and multimeters
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Test, diagnose and repair electronic products to component level
• Use automated and manual test equipment to identify faults
• Carry out fault-finding with and without schematics or circuit diagrams
• Complete repairs to the required quality and performance standards
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostics within internal systems
• Disassemble, reassemble and prepare returned units for testing and repair
• Configure hardware for manual testing where required
• Support continuous improvement and reduction in turnaround times
• Highlight technical, quality or process issues to Engineering and Management teams
• Carry out maintenance and calibration checks on test systems
• Provide technical support and cross-training to colleagues when required
