Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Diabetes Specialist Nurse (Band 7) for the Medical Division at Arrowe Park Hospital, Upton. This permanent part-time post is 22.5 hours per week, with a discussion-friendly pattern and a salary range of £49,387–£56,515 per year.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with substantial diabetes experience.
• Postgraduate level qualifications in diabetes care and prescribing.
• Experience in insulin pump and sensor technology.

Responsibilities

• Request and interpret diagnostic investigations and adjust treatment.
• Act as registered Nurse Prescriber (V300) for diabetes patients.
• Develop diabetes protocols impacting primary and secondary care.
• Provide highly specialist advice across organisations.
• Counsel patients on complex therapies and chronic disease management.
• Deliver autonomous diabetes care including pregnancy-related management.
• Support hybrid closed-loop therapy during pregnancy.
