Current Vacancy: Infrastructure Platform Engineer (On-Prem/Cloud) Consultant

This permanent role is based on-site.

Requirements

• Develop, manage, and support infrastructure underpinning platforms, applications, and data.
• Automate processes to enable rapid, secure delivery of capabilities.
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code for automation from development to production.
• Passion for improving workflows and understanding market trends.
• Stakeholder needs comprehension and effective communication.
• Review and test code, ensuring governance compliance.
• Maintain system security, adhering to cybersecurity best practices and NCSC principles.
• Manage security of cloud and on-prem platforms, including secrets, tokens, and certificates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper development and delivery processes.
• Plan projects and participate in project management decisions.
• Design, secure, and maintain infrastructure.
• Make informed decisions, resolve technical disputes, and communicate clearly to varied audiences.
• Expose, link, and stream data from systems.
• Document deployment risks and integrate security features throughout development.
• Identify and mitigate security risks, implement controls, monitor infrastructure, and ensure compliance.
• Detect vulnerabilities early and deploy secure software efficiently.
• Experience with agile methodologies is desirable.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• Experience collaborating with security teams.
• Solid infrastructure design experience for on-prem environments, including migrations.
• Experience with hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions.
• Knowledge of various technologies, assessing best options, and innovating within constraints.
• Strong software change management and governance experience.
• Proficiency with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform, YAML), and performance monitoring.
• Experience in functional/non-functional testing, automated deployment, and government standards.
• Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and their implications.
• Ability to train and support teams.
• Experience managing live systems, incident resolution, and working in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Hands-on with Terraform, YAML, automation tools, and monitoring solutions.

This role requires security clearance, including completion of a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check.
