Job summary

Roke in Gloucester seeks a DevOps & Infrastructure Lead for its National Security business. You will deliver high-throughput on-prem and cloud platforms, lead a hands-on team, and drive secure, scalable solutions in demanding environments.

Responsibilities include shaping roadmaps, developing CI/CD pipelines with ArgoCD, implementing IaC with Terraform and Helm, and mentoring engineers to adopt modern platform practices while aligning with security requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong DevOps or infrastructure engineering background with leadership experience.
• Experience delivering secure cloud-based infra and on‑premise platforms.
• IaC experience using Terraform and Helm, with Go automation.
• Container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes; Helm tooling.
• CI/CD and GitOps tooling, incl. ArgoCD and automated pipelines.
• Observability with Prometheus and Grafana; strong security basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team developing, operating and improving secure on-prem and cloud data platforms.
• Shape platform, infrastructure and delivery roadmaps with engineering leaders.
• Design and operate high-throughput on-prem data platforms and cloud solutions.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
• Improve observability and monitoring; ensure resilient operations.
• Use IaC and automation with Helm, Go and Terraform for repeatable environments.
• Mentor engineers and promote modern DevOps and platform practices.
