Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment seeks a DevOps Engineer to join a secure technology organisation in Gloucester. The role focuses on automation, cloud infrastructure and deployment improvements to support scalable, reliable services.

You will drive pipelines, manage Linux and cloud environments, and implement IaC and observability, collaborating with engineering teams while ensuring security and best practices are followed. DV clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience within DevOps, Platform or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong Linux administration skills.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation tooling.
• Understanding of networking and security concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible or similar tools.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• AWS, Azure or Google Cloud exposure.
• Git version control experience.
• Experience supporting highly available or mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines.
• Manage and improve cloud and Linux-based environments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Support containerised platforms and orchestration technologies.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability capabilities.
• Improve deployment, release and operational processes through automation.
• Work alongside engineering teams to increase delivery efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
• Ensure security and best practice are considered throughout delivery.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational standards.
