Job summary

Peaple Talent Ltd is recruiting a hands-on DevOps Engineer for their Bristol office on a full-time, permanent basis. The role focuses on designing, building, and scaling cloud platform foundations across IT and Software Engineering teams with a core emphasis on the new Azure environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong DevOps experience, Terraform IaC expertise, and GitHub-based CI/CD capabilities, contributing to cloud, AI, and security initiatives within a fast-growing services firm.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of DevOps/infra automation experience.
• Deep expertise in Terraform for reusable IaC modules.
• Hands-on proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub).
• Solid background in Azure (or AWS/GCP) including landing zones, networking, and Zero Trust.
• Understanding of ITIL/ITSM, FinOps, monitoring and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and build landing zones, identity, policy controls, and centralized ingress/egress patterns for Azure (and AWS).
• Develop reusable IaC modules with Terraform and maintain CI/CD pipelines via GitHub.
• Support AI workloads and Azure Virtual Desktop environments with deployment capabilities.
• Implement monitoring, Zero Trust networking, vulnerability controls, and FinOps practices.

Salary: £75,000 per year

Peaple Talent are partnered with a leading national professional services firm to recruit a hands-on DevOps Engineer for their Bristol office.

Following continuous growth and ongoing investment in cloud and AI capabilities, our client is strengthening their IT Operations function. The successful candidate will be pivotal in designing, building, and scaling the cloud platform foundations used across their IT and Software Engineering teams, with a core focus on their new Azure environment.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience (4+ years) delivering DevOps, cloud platform, or infrastructure automation outcomes.
• Deep expertise in Terraform for reusable IaC modules and deployment patterns.
• Hands‑on proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines (principally GitHub).
• Solid background in Azure (or AWS/GCP), including landing zones, networking (DNS, firewalls, load balancing), and Zero Trust principles.
• Practical understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes and the software development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of cloud financial management (FinOps), monitoring/observability, and security controls.
• Desirable: Experience supporting AI/data workloads or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Platform Engineering: Design and build landing zones, management structures, identity, policy controls, and centralized ingress/egress patterns for a primary Azure (and supporting AWS) platform.
• IaC & Automation: Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules using Terraform as the primary tech, and build/maintain robust CI/CD pipelines via GitHub.
• AI & EUC Enablement: Partner with Software Engineering to build deployment capabilities for AI workloads, and assist End User Computing with automated Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Security & FinOps: Implement monitoring, Zero Trust networking, vulnerability controls, and FinOps practices (cost allocation, tagging, budgeting, and optimisation).
• Operations & Mentorship: Apply ITIL principles to service management and change/incident processes, providing technical guidance to upskill wider IT Ops and Software Engineering teams. (Note: includes participation in a monthly Saturday server maintenance window).
