Job summary

NiCE is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design scalable Python automation frameworks and code-generation platforms for infrastructure. You will maintain Puppet modules for Linux/Windows, write PowerShell automation scripts, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.

You will also advance Terraform-driven infrastructure, use Jinja2 for templating, and apply robust testing with pytest and related tooling in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python development experience and focus on structured, testable code.
• Experience with Python packaging, virtual environments, and code quality tooling (pip, Poetry, pylint, black, mypy).
• Hands-on experience building CLI tools and automation frameworks using Python.
• Proficiency with Jinja2 templating for infrastructure code generation.
• Experience with pytest for unit and integration testing of automation code.
• Strong Terraform experience including modules, state, remote backends, workspaces, and graphs.
• Ability to generate Terraform HCL programmatically using Python and Jinja2.
• Familiarity with Terraform tooling (tflint, tfsec, terraform-docs, Terragrunt, Atlantis).
• Understanding Terraform provider internals and resource lifecycle management.
• Hands-on Puppet experience (manifests, modules, Hiera, node classification, r10k/Code Manager).
• Managing mixed Linux and Windows environments with Puppet at scale; puppet-lint, rspec-puppet testing pipelines, and Puppet Enterprise/open-source administration.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Windows Server administration and hybrid cloud integrations; writing reusable modules and error handling; Pester testing.
• Experience automating Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows networking tasks via PowerShell.
• Solid AWS experience across EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch.
• CI/CD platforms and pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Comfort with Linux and Windows Server in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in code reviews and share best practices to improve quality and security of automation solutions.

Requirements

• We have 5+ years of Python development experience, focused on structured, testable application code rather than scripting.
