Job summary

Randstad Digital is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Cardiff for a hybrid role combining office and remote work. You will lead multi-cloud initiatives (Azure/AWS), implement Terraform-based infrastructure, and mentor junior teammates to drive delivery excellence.

You will influence cloud networking, CI/CD with GitLab, and security practices while exploring serverless options and AI-driven improvements in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing public cloud services at enterprise scale (Azure/AWS).
• IaC using Terraform for provisioning and automating infrastructure.
• Experience guiding and mentoring DevOps engineers and leading delivery.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model and stay current with cloud tech and AI.

Location: Cardiff (Hybrid – 50% Office / 50% Remote)

The Opportunity

Are you a technically versatile problem-solver, passionate about cloud infrastructure and automation? We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join an enterprise scale cloud services provider in Cardiff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior / lead engineer to deepen their expertise in multi-cloud environments (Azure & AWS), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerisation. You will also lead and mentor more junior engineers within a collaborative culture that prioritizes innovation—including early-stage projects in Generative AI.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience managing public cloud services across Azure or AWS at enterprise scale
• Terraform and IAC experience for infrastructure provisioning
• Experience leading and mentoring junior DevOps Engineers
• Technical leadership / responsibility for delivery
• Broad experience across Cloud, Infrastructure, Development, Delivery
• GitLab for CI/CD workflows.
• Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of cloud networking, DNS, and secure VPN configurations.
• Must be eligible for SC Clearance - 5 years in the UK, no criminal record etc
• Growth Mindset: A desire to stay at the forefront of cloud tech, including Serverless (Functions/Logic Apps) and AI.
