Job summary

Candour is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role. The position offers £65,000-£75,000 per year and involves maintaining existing infrastructure and building scalable new systems from Manchester.

You will mentor junior engineers and help shape deployment, monitoring, and migration strategies. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a commercial environment, strong AWS and Terraform experience, and deep Linux expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a commercial environment.
• Working on large-scale projects.
• Extensive hands-on AWS experience (5+ years).
• Terraform proficiency, particularly at scale and in the creation of reusable modules.
• Fluency with bash/shell scripts.
• Experience in costing.
• Linux systems (ubuntu).
• Management of live environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain existing infrastructure and create new, performant infrastructure to meet business needs.
• Bridge gaps between lead and junior DevOps engineers and mentor colleagues.
• Break down complex work into manageable pieces and contribute to deployment, rollback, monitoring, and migration strategies.
• Promote coding standards, peer review and new ideas to improve delivery.

Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Salary: £65,000-75,000 per annum

A modern, growing company based in Manchester is looking to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer in a fully remote role. This is an exciting role involving maintaining existing infrastructure and creating new performant infrastructure to meet the growing business needs.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between the lead and junior DevOps engineers, bringing experience with infrastructure testing, best practices with Terraform and IaC, and alternative technologies. You'll mentor and support other engineers, help break down complex work into manageable pieces, and contribute to improving deployment, rollback, monitoring, and migration strategies through coding standards, peer review, and new ideas.
