Job summary

MPower Plus is seeking a skilled DevOps/Platform Engineer in Manchester to own container platform engineering, with hands-on Kubernetes and OpenShift experience. You will drive cloud infrastructure design on GCP, implement reusable Terraform modules, and lead CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and automation best practices.

You will work on developer platform initiatives using Backstage, ensure observability with Dynatrace, and enforce security controls via Vault and IAM.

Qualifications

• Kubernetes engineering with OpenShift experience required.
• GKE and/or Google Cloud Platform experience preferred, with Terraform and reusable infrastructure automation.
• Delivery engineering: CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; design, automation, and deployment controls.
• Developer platform concepts including Backstage and self-service golden paths.
• Observability & SRE: Dynatrace, metrics, logs, traces, SLI/SLOs, runbook automation.
• Security: Vault, certificate management, IAM/least privilege, platform controls.
• Networking: Istio service mesh, ingress/egress, traffic management and connectivity.
• Engineering practices: GitHub/Git, scripting, troubleshooting and production support.

• Container platforms: Strong hands-on Kubernetes engineering; GKE preferred. OpenShift experience is required.
• Cloud & IaC: Google Cloud Platform experience preferred; strong Terraform and reusable infrastructure automation.
• Delivery engineering: Harness CI/CD and Jenkins; pipeline design, automation, release controls and deployment patterns.
• Developer platform: Backstage and Internal Developer Platform concepts, including self-service and golden paths.
• Observability & SRE: Dynatrace; metrics, telemetry, logs, traces, alerting, SLI/SLO practices and runbook automation.
• Security & controls: HashiCorp Vault, certificate management, IAM/least privilege, platform controls and secure configuration.
