Job summary

Teach Plus are currently working with a friendly primary school in East London seeking a Developmental Learning Teacher for an ASAP start.

The role sits in a specialist class focusing on early development, communication, independence and social skills, using personalised, play-based learning beyond the traditional national curriculum. Suitable for experienced primary teachers, EYFS or ECT with a nurturing approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Experience within EYFS, KS1, SEN or a similar developmental setting is desirable.
• ECTs with relevant placement experience are welcome to apply.
• Strong understanding of child development and personalised learning.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging developmentally appropriate activities.
• Support pupils' communication, interaction and social development.
• Develop pupils' independence and confidence through practical activities.
• Create a structured, nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
• Adapt learning to individual abilities, needs and interests.
• Use play-based and practical approaches to encourage engagement.
• Support pupils with additional learning and developmental needs.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
• Monitor pupil development and contribute to individual learning plans.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and families.
