Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland is seeking a Development Technologist to join our UK R&D team. You’ll lead product development projects from concept to launch, guiding the Product Evolution Process and delivering dairy innovations that meet consumer and business needs.

The role requires a degree in Food Science or Dairy Technology, strong dairy knowledge, and proven ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with production, and travel to Müller sites and co-packers across the UK when required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology or related discipline.
• Knowledge of dairy science, processing and nutrition.
• Experience in food or dairy product development is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Passion for food innovation with a creative mindset.
• Effective communicator and team player, able to manage multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel to Müller sites and co-packers across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise recipes, ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, nutritional and legal requirements.
• Create and present new product concepts and conduct kitchen, pilot plant and factory trials.
• Manage product testing, shelf-life studies and project documentation.
• Support scale-up activities and product launches, working closely with production teams.
• Source and approve new ingredients, build supplier relationships and manage briefs.
• Contribute to project planning, risk management, costings and stakeholder updates.
• Ensure all development work complies with Müller standards and relevant legislation.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
