Job Description:

Location: Newcastle area

Term: Permanent

SRG is working with a global producer of coatings and polymer-based products established for over 75 years. They are seeking a Development Technician at their Newcastle site to focus on developing new polymer products. The role suits candidates with recent industrial experience in the polymers or similar industry.

Benefits and working hours: 35.5 hours/week, 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, 9am – 3pm Fridays. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Conducting laboratory testing of products and general housekeeping
  • Communicating results of plant trials effectively
  • Ensuring machinery is operational
  • Reporting test results and proposing improvements

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or similar
  • Recent industry experience in polymers or chemicals sector
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
