Job summary

Galbraith is seeking an ambitious Development Surveyor to help grow our presence across Northumberland and the wider North East. You will take ownership of projects, build client relationships and play a key role in growing the Planning & Development service.

This commercially minded role involves working across the full development lifecycle, including planning, surveying and strategic land consultancy, with MRTPI/MRICS or equivalent qualification welcomed. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Hold MRTPI or MRICS or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in planning, rural practice, strategic land, development consultancy, land agency, valuation.
• Understand the planning and development process and its commercial implications.
• Be confident managing client relationships and multiple projects.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing planning applications, pre-application enquiries, planning appeals and planning strategies.
• Undertaking site assessments, development appraisals and valuations.
• Advising landowners, developers and promoters on development opportunities and constraints.
• Supporting strategic land promotion projects and Local Plan representations.
• Assisting with landowner negotiations and development agreements where appropriate.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, local authorities and professional contacts.
• Managing fee-earning instructions, including budgets, programme management, reporting and client communication.
• Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the growth of the Planning & Development service.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Galbraith's wider teams.
