Capstone is recruiting a Development Manager for a privately owned hotel investment and operating business, delivering refurbishment, redevelopment and capital projects across its UK portfolio.
Reporting to the Development Director, you will take projects from initial feasibility and budgeting through design, procurement, construction and operational handover. Initial schemes include two hotel refurbishment projects of approximately £8m each, covering bedrooms, event spaces, spa and leisure facilities, with further London projects coming through.
Manage project budgets, programmes, quality and delivery risk.
Appoint and coordinate consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers.
Lead procurement, tender reviews, value engineering and change control.
Work with hotel operators to plan works around trading requirements.
Support feasibility assessments, acquisition due diligence and future development opportunities.
Prepare clear progress, cost and risk reporting for senior stakeholders.
You are likely to be a Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor with at least five years’ relevant experience, ideally gained within consultancy.
Hotel refurbishment or conversion experience is particularly relevant, alongside strong commercial skills and confidence managing multidisciplinary teams. A QS background is strongly preferred, with knowledge of cost planning, construction contracts, valuations, variations and final accounts. MRICS or an equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
This offers the opportunity to take broader client-side responsibility, work directly with senior decision-makers and contribute to both existing portfolio investment and future developments.
The role is based within the London team and involves travel across the UK portfolio.
