Job summary

Capstone is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead Build to Rent development across London and key regional cities, managing a portfolio typically 250–500 units. You will work with senior leaders to shape the UK BTR platform and manage a team through the full development lifecycle.

Salary is £115,000 to £120,000 plus bonus and benefits. The role requires an experienced development professional with a strong track record and knowledge of forward-funding and JV structures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in residential development or similar
• Strong track record delivering significant residential projects
• Detailed understanding of development/construction process: planning, design, procurement and delivery

Senior Development Manager - Build to Rent

Central London

Capstone is working with a leading international real estate investor and developer looking to appoint a Senior Development Manager as part of a significant expansion into the UK Build to Rent market.

This is a senior client-side development role offering the opportunity to help shape and grow what is intended to become one of the UK's largest BTR portfolios, backed by significant institutional capital.

Working closely with the Head of UK and Development Director, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of residential development projects across London and key regional cities, typically ranging from 250-500 units.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing the existing development team
• Leading projects across the full development lifecycle
• Managing direct development projects both pre and post-planning
• Overseeing forward-funded developments and joint venture partners
• Leading technical due diligence on new opportunities
• Managing professional teams and external stakeholders
• Working alongside the investment team on development appraisals and financial modelling
• Helping deliver an ambitious sustainability strategy

We are looking for an experienced development professional with 8+ years' experience and a strong track record delivering significant residential projects.

You will need a detailed understanding of the development and construction process, including planning, technical design, procurement and delivery. Previous experience of institutional BTR and forward-funding structures would be particularly advantageous.
