Job summary

Rochford District Council, with Essex County Council support, seeks a Development Management Delivery Consultant for a 6-month temporary assignment. The role is hybrid with 1 day on-site weekly, alternating between two sites, and may include attendance at evening meetings to progress complex cases.

Qualifications

• Experienced planning professional with local authority DM management experience.
• Prefer MRTPI qualified and able to navigate political environments.
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex or stalled cases with clear actions and timescales.
• Support investigations into appeals and planning improvements for timely delivery.
• Improve communications with Councillors and stakeholders.
• Assist governance, data requests and quality assurance within delegation rules.
• Provide guidance and embed improvements for lasting impact.
