Job summary

Corporate Recruitment Solutions represents a growing specialist property lender in London, seeking a senior Development Finance underwriter who can own complex transactions and become a technical reference within the business.

You’ll mentor junior colleagues, support bridging alongside development lending, and apply advanced knowledge of development, construction and credit risk. The role emphasizes accessibility and the ability to provide trusted second opinions on challenging deals.

Qualifications

• Strong Development Finance underwriting experience.
• Exposure to bridging alongside development lending; knowledge of development and construction.
• Experience with complex/challenged transactions and restructuring.
• Desire to mentor and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior team members and act as a technical reference on challenging deals.
• Take ownership of complex Development Finance transactions from screening to closing.
• Provide second opinions and support colleagues in deal structuring and risk assessment.

Job description

We’re working with a growing specialist property lender looking to make a key senior addition to its Development Finance underwriting team.

This isn’t simply another underwriting hire.

The team is already established and they’re looking for someone who can become a genuine technical point of reference within the business – taking ownership of complex transactions whilst mentoring and developing some very capable junior members of the team.

You’ll need:

• Strong Development Finance underwriting experience
• Exposure to bridging alongside development lending
• Excellent technical knowledge of development, construction and credit risk
• Experience of complex/challenged transactions and restructuring scenario
• The ability – and importantly, the desire – to mentor and develop others

You don’t necessarily need to be managing a team currently.

What matters is that you’re technically strong, approachable and already the person colleagues tend to come to when they need a second opinion on a difficult deal.

The lender is currently weighted heavily towards Development Finance
