Job summary

ZipTalents is seeking a Development Engineer for advanced technology and hypercars. You will work on battery prototypes, design and build test rigs, and perform rigorous cycling, thermal, and electrical tests in a high-performance lab environment.

The role requires hands-on battery assembly experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years experience in battery assembly and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with battery cell, module, and pack assembly.
  • Experience with battery cycling testing, thermal testing, and electrical testing.
  • Familiarity with battery chemistry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Battery prototypes: cell, module, and pack assembly.
  • Design, plan and build test rigs and related hardware.
  • Conduct cycling, thermal, and electrical tests to evaluate performance.
  • Analyse test data and provide feedback to engineering team.
  • Troubleshoot issues and propose reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new battery products.
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, organized workspace.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of build and test processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Battery prototypes, including cell assembly, module assembly, and pack assembly
  • Design, plan and build of test rigs and associated hardware
  • Conduct experiments to evaluate battery performance, including cycling tests, thermal tests, and electrical tests
  • Analyse test data and provide feedback to the engineering team
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions to improve battery performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new battery products and technologies
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and tools, and ensure a clean and organized work environment
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of battery build and testing processes
