Job description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical system design within an advanced battery engineering environment.

Working closely with mechanical, software and manufacturing teams, you will ensure electrical designs are safe, robust and scalable, supporting high-performance, low-volume battery production programmes.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and development of electrical architectures for battery modules and packs, including HV distribution, LV electronics, fusing, contactors, sensing and interconnects.
  • Defining and maintaining system-level and component-level electrical requirements.
  • Selecting and specifying electrical and electro-mechanical components aligned to performance, safety and regulatory needs.
  • Leading and contributing to electrical DFMEA activities to identify and mitigate design risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant battery and automotive safety standards, including UN 38.3, IEC, UL and ISO 6469.
  • Creating and executing electrical design verification and validation plans, supporting prototype builds, testing and system bring-up.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline, or significant relevant industry experience demonstrating equivalent capability.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in electrical design for battery systems, HV systems or automotive electrical engineering.
  • Proven hands-on experience delivering end-to-end electrical systems, with practical involvement in PCB design and wiring harness (EDS) development.
  • Strong technical expertise across battery electrical architectures, including HV safety, LV electronics, sensing and protection strategies.
  • Experience working with BMS hardware, including hardware integration, sensing and protection circuitry.
  • A strong understanding of structured product development processes, including requirements management, DFMEA and DVP.
