Job summary

North Hertfordshire Council is seeking a Development & Conservation Manager to jointly lead development management, enforcement and technical support services. You will supervise a team of over 30 professionals and shape a high-quality planning service across a district with significant growth and diverse applications.

You will work with an experienced management team, distributing responsibilities with a part-time senior manager successor, and help create a collaborative and high-performing

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in development management within local authority or similar
• Ability to lead, inspire and manage projects and teams
• Excellent communication with elected members, officers, applicants and communities

Responsibilities

• Oversee development management, planning enforcement, technical support and specialist functions by a 30+ officer team
• Provide strategic leadership while hands-on involvement in complex planning matters
• Mentor and share knowledge with a peer manager to distribute responsibilities and increase capacity
