Job summary

Holdsworth Foods is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join the Despatch team at our Bedford depot. You will pick orders, identify stocked products and support accurate loading for delivery, ensuring high levels of accuracy and customer service.

Training to use a forklift is provided; staff benefits include a staff discount, death-in-service, healthcare cash plan, an employee assistance program and a company pension. Hours vary with shifts in the Despatch area.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders from picking sheets with attention to product and quantities
• Be familiar with and able to identify the products stocked
• Understand warehouse layout and correct storage areas for stocked items
• Face labels outwards for double checking
• Handle loading/unloading of cages safely
• Operate pallet trucks/fork trucks only with valid certification
• Report faults on handling equipment to the manager
• Double check cages against picking sheets for traceability
• Load cages onto the correct vehicle with care to avoid damage
• Ensure dry goods and meat orders are loaded correctly to prevent damage
