Job summary

Allied Bakeries in Glasgow is seeking a Despatch Team Member to join our busy site. You will help ensure orders are picked, packed and loaded efficiently for on-time delivery, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Backshift hours are 10 am to 8:30 pm, five days over seven, with a salary of £29,765 per year. We value team players, reliability and a proactive approach to meet daily targets and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse environment.
• Good numeracy and ability to follow processes.
• Fit for light to heavy lifting.
• Team player with a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and load products onto vehicles.
• Rotate stock and ensure quality control.
• Identify and resolve issues like shortages or damage.
• Work as a team to meet deadlines while maintaining safety.
• Safely operate forklift and other equipment.

Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Key Accountabilities

As a Despatch Team Member, you'll play a key role in ensuring our customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Picking & Loading: Accurately assembling and loading products onto the right vehicles.
• Stock Rotation & Quality Control: Ensuring fresh, high-quality products reach our customers.
• Keeping Things Moving: Identifying and resolving issues like stock shortages or product damage.
• Teamwork & Safety: Working together to meet deadlines while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
• Equipment Use: Operating forklifts and other MHE safely

What We’re Looking For

• Warehouse experience
• Ability to work with numbers and follow processes accurately
• A good level of fitness for light to heavy lifting
• Team player with a can-do attitude and a flexible approach
