Allied Bakeries in Cardiff (Wales) is seeking a permanent Delivery Driver to join our Grocery Service Centre network. You’ll drive and deliver baked goods to stores, prioritising safety and customer service, with early starts (2am–4am) and a 48-hour week.

Qualifications

Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Requirements

• Clean Full UK driving license
• Clean Full Class 2 license
• A love for the open road and early starts (2am - 4am)
• Ability to lift and carry products with care
• A flexible and conscientious attitude to adjust to the needs of the business and deliver excellent results

Key Accountabilities

• To comply with all legal requirements for HGV Drivers
• To always drive Company vehicles to high standards of safety and courtesy, including compliance with the Highway Code and any Company standards
• To apply SAFED driving techniques, in order to maximise levels of safety and fuel efficiency
• To comply with all Company delivery and collection procedures, e.g. picking from bulk order load, order adjustment, health and safety
• To comply with Company standards for customer service
• To report immediately to the FLM any variations to required standards of product quality and service levels
• To follow Company standards and procedures for working with, and accounting for, Company products and equipment, e.g. bread baskets, pallets, store returns and buffer stock.
• To comply with all Company requirements for Driver training and communications
• To carry out any duties, as required by the Company, e.g. unloading, refuelling and washing vehicles and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
