Job summary

Albert Bartlett in Boston, Lincolnshire, is seeking a Despatch Supervisor to lead the despatch team on a rolling 4-on/4-off shift, from 06:00 to 18:00 at our Fresh potato packing site.

You will ensure loads are built and despatched accurately, manage staffing and workload, check paperwork, liaise with hauliers and production, and maintain a clean, safe working environment. A valid forklift truck license is required and previous forklift operation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• A valid forklift truck license is required.
• Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate and organise a team.
• Good communication skills and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Despatch Team Leader in managing workload on the relevant shift to ensure efficient operation.
• Ensure loads are built and despatched correctly by managing staff in the department.
• Check paperwork to ensure loads are despatched accurately.
• Ensure loads are labeled correctly and despatched with the correct paperwork.
• Communicate issues with loading to the Supply Chain and with production on shortages.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment within the department.
• Take delivery notes in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures.
• Create and agree load plans with external hauliers to ensure timely despatch.

We are currently recruiting for a Despatch Supervisor working at our Fresh potato packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire. Shift & Hours of work: 4 days on, 4 days off - Rolling Shift, working 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs Salary: £13.96 per hour #IND-HP

Responsibilities

• Assist the Despatch Team Leader in managing workload of the despatch team on the relevant shift to ensure skills are spread correctly to ensure all aspects of the despatch operation run efficiently.
• Ensure loads are built and despatched correctly by managing staff in the department.
• Check paperwork to ensure all loads are despatched accurately.
• Ensure all loads are labelled correctly and are despatched with the correct paperwork.
• Communicate issues with loading to the Supply Chain.
• Communicate with production team on shortages and production plans to enable an efficient despatch operation.
• Ensure a clean working environment at all times within the dept.
• Be proficient to take the delivery notes in accordance with the relevant SO.
• Create and agree load plans with external hauliers to ensure product is despatched in a timely manner.
• Liaise with hauliers to ensure loads are despatched as required.
• Valid Forklift Truck License is required.
• Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Ability to lead, motivate and organise a team.
• Good communication skills and collaborative approach Physical fitness and capability to handle lifting and moving heavy items.
