Job summary

The Village Bakery Group is seeking two Despatch Operatives to join the Despatch team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The role operates on a 4 on 4 off schedule, with shifts from 18:00 to 06:00, supporting fast-paced bakery distribution across retailers.

You will pick orders, load loads safely, and use handheld scanners to ensure accurate stock control, while working closely with production and logistics teams in a progressive, employee-focused environment.

Qualifications

• FLT licence required.
• Experience in warehouse/logistics, preferably FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Ability to follow procedures and health and safety rules.
• Stock rotation knowledge.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication.
• Physically fit for manual handling.
• Experience with warehouse management or stock control systems.
• Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP or HACCP.
• Experience in bakery or chilled foods.

Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for two Despatch Operatives to join our Despatch team in Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The hours of work for this role are 4on 4off (18:00hrs – 06:00hrs).

As a member of the Despatch team, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive the right products, in the right quantities and on time. Working in a fast-paced FMCG environment, you will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders, preparing loads for dispatch, using hand‑held scanning technology to maintain stock accuracy and ensuring vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently to support the smooth operation of our distribution network.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (Counterbalance or Reach)
• Experience working in a warehouse, stores or logistics role, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately
• Understanding of stock rotation and basic inventory control
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Physically fit for manual handling
• Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems
• Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP or HACCP environments
• Experience within bakery or chilled food manufacturing
