Job summary

Hillarys Blinds Limited is hiring a Despatch Operative at our Glaisdale site on a 6 month fixed term contract. You will sort goods by date, prepare items for dispatch, and assist with loading and unloading inter-site vehicles.

This is a hands-on, physical role that rewards accuracy and teamwork. You will use basic IT systems, perform stock checks, maintain a clean safe workspace, and take ownership of tasks while meeting daily targets.

About the Role

As a Despatch Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of products across our operation. You will be responsible for the sortation of goods by date, preparing items for onward distribution, and supporting the loading and unloading of inter-site vehicles. This is a physically active role, ideal for someone who enjoys being on their feet and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort and organise products accurately by date to ensure correct stock rotation
• Safely load and unload vehicles, handling all products with care to prevent damage
• Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at all times
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet daily targets
• Carry out basic stock checks and ensure product integrity is maintained
• Use basic IT systems to support despatch processes
• Take ownership of tasks, identifying and escalating issues where required

About You

• Previous experience in a warehouse, despatch, or similar environment (desirable, but not essential)

• The ability to work on your own initiative and manage your workload effectively
