Desktop Support Engineer

6 Month contract initially

Based: Onsite in London

Rate: Market rates (via Umbrella company)

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Win-10 Desktop and Laptop Build - Refurbishment, OS Installation, Application installation via Azure AD.
  2. Providing support for Desktop/Laptop in MMD infrastructure.
  3. CMDB Management.
  4. Providing Desktop Support and addressing tickets for WIN-10/11 Deployment issues and requests.
  5. Assisting customers with application installation and first-level support.
  6. Troubleshooting and resolving desktop/laptop/tablets/phone issues remotely.
  7. Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues on Windows-10/11 OS.
  8. Managing End-to-End Infrastructure from Windows devices to core applications.
  9. Providing 1st Line Network Support.
  10. User Account Creation and Support.
  11. Supporting Microsoft Exchange.
  12. Printer Support.
  13. Device Management via Intune Portal.
  14. Antivirus Management.
  15. Windows 10/11 Patch Deployment.
  16. Supporting Meeting Room setups.
  17. Supporting operating systems with performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  18. Resolving O365 related issues.
  19. Collaborating with relevant teams to resolve technical issues and communicating progress.
  20. Participating in BAU operational support and project delivery.
  21. Maintaining system documentation and procedures.
  22. Performing periodic audits of security controls.
  23. Moving devices physically and setting up or dispatching to users.
  24. Creating technical documentation, reports, and manuals.
  25. Unpacking, repackaging, and shipping devices.
  26. Travel across multiple UK locations as required.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Supporting Windows 7 and 10 onsite and remotely.
  • Knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting Windows 10, tablets, and HHUs.
  • Extensive hardware and software management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with device configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of O365 products and services.
  • Understanding of device security and antivirus programs.
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and guide users.
  • Customer-oriented attitude.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Powershell scripting knowledge.
  • Experience with Windows registry updates.
  • Proven desktop hardware installation and setup experience.
  • Experience in desktop site and remote support roles.
