Mitie Fire & Security in the UK is seeking a talented Designer/Estimator to translate customer requirements into fully engineered, commercially viable fire and security solutions across CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and fire detection. You will work closely with sales, operations and technical teams across national accounts.

The role offers exposure to diverse projects, opportunity to influence design from concept to tender, and a path to develop expertise within a leading facilities

Qualifications

• Experience within a Fire & Security Design, Estimating, Surveying or Technical Solutions role.
• Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Fire Detection systems.
• Experience producing technical designs, quotations and cost estimates.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costing.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Produce detailed and accurate Fire & Security system designs, quotations and cost estimates.
• Develop solutions across CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Fire Detection systems.
• Review customer specifications, drawings, surveys and tender documentation to develop compliant proposals.
• Conduct site surveys where required to validate design requirements and identify opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with Business Development, Account Management and Operational teams throughout the sales lifecycle.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to identify the most appropriate technologies and solutions.
• Prepare technical submissions and supporting design documentation.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to design and estimating best practice.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience within a Fire & Security Design, Estimating, Surveying or Technical Solutions role.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Fire Detection systems.
• Experience producing technical designs, quotations and cost estimates.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costing.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience designing solutions for national account or enterprise customers.
• Knowledge of leading Fire & Security manufacturers and technologies.
• Experience using CAD, design or estimating software.
• Understanding of IP networking and integrated security solutions.
• Experience supporting tender submissions and bid responses.
• Industry qualifications relevant to Fire & Security design or engineering.
• Experience working within NSI, BAFE or other accredited environments.
