Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking a Temporary Designated Teacher in Bromley to support looked-after and previously looked-after learners, promoting educational achievement, wellbeing and inclusion. Qualifications

• Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable learners within education or safeguarding.
• Understanding of educational and wellbeing needs of looked-after learners.
• Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and information sharing.
• Strong organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external professionals.
• Learner-centred, inclusive, and non-judgemental approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Act as a consistent point of contact for looked-after and previously looked-after learners.
• Support students in accessing academic, pastoral, safeguarding, and wellbeing services.
• Coordinate and contribute to Personal Education Plans (PEPs) and other review processes.
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, ensuring actions are communicated and followed through.
• Monitor attendance, engagement, progress, wellbeing, and support interventions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation.
• Work closely with curriculum teams, pastoral staff, carers, social workers, and external agencies.
• Help remove barriers to learning and promote positive educational outcomes.
• Escalate safeguarding, welfare, attendance, or progress concerns when appropriate.
• Promote trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and inclusive approaches across the organisation.
• Support staff by sharing guidance and best practice for working with looked-after learners.
