Job summary

Witherslack Group's Westmorland School invites a Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our leadership team. You will oversee safeguarding, liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies, and support staff, families, and pupils to ensure wellbeing and protection.

We expect at least 3 years in a DSL role, a comprehensive CPD portfolio in safeguarding, excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and a full UK driving licence. We offer competitive pay and generous benefits across our schools.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
• Comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to Safeguarding and Child Protection.
• Outstanding interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
• A genuinely empathetic approach is also essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding within the school and liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
• Provide advice and expertise to staff, parents/carers and pupils.
• Support wellbeing, child protection and safeguarding on a daily basis.
