Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead for a new school opening inSeptember 2026 in Manchester. You will lead safeguarding, liaise with agencies, and support wellbeing across the team to ensure the best outcomes for children with complex needs.

You will work with a high staff-to-child ratio and be part of an in-house clinical team, reporting to the Head Teacher. A minimum of 3 years in a safeguarding lead role and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
• Comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to Safeguarding and Child Protection.
• Outstanding interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
• A genuinely empathetic approach is also essential
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies on wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Support staff, parents/carers and students with safeguarding guidance.
• Provide expert advice to the safeguarding team and leadership.
